The healing sacrifice is slaughtered to protect against illness and accidents; distributing the meat to the poor strengthens social solidarity. The African healing sacrifice is of great significance in reaching those in need in regions where hunger and poverty are most prevalent.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Treat your sick with charity," emphasizing that healing can come through charity.

Charitable donors who contribute to the African Healing Sacrifice provide a warm meal for a family and receive the blessings of the oppressed. As stated in the Quran, Surah Ibrahim:
